The center of the Cattolica and main streets

The centre of Cattolica diverges mainly from the main streets of via Bovio and via Curiel originally called via Balneare (the way to the beach) and the connecting point between the town centre and the sea. In the 80's via Bovio underwent an urban refurbishment and modernization project, winning the architect Franco Vico third prize in the "Progettare con il porfido" (porphyry project and design).

A wide tree lined avenue completely closed to traffic extends up to Piazza Primo Maggio and is comprised of alternating cafes and shops and has established itself as both a meeting point for shopping and for the compulsory leisurely stroll.

In the evenings during the summer months, along the streets and avenues, the council organizes numerous travelling shows which involve the tourist by engaging them in unusual and creative displays. During the hot summer nights, street acrobats, mime artists and theatrical companies take turns to perform their shows, whilst strolling along the avenues, entertaining those who chose Cattolica as their favourite holiday destination.
